Title: Meditation in relation to computational biology and digital twin technologies

Abstract

Meditation is a form of complementary and alternative medicine. Since the mid-19th century, numerous studies have been conducted to understand the physiology of meditation. These include various research approaches—such as EEG, fMRI, and more recently, DITP studies—which have demonstrated that meditation has positive health impacts, including the reduction of depression and an improved ability to regulate emotions. Meditation-based interventions hold the potential to enhance health and well-being. Research has explored various ways to integrate these practices, revealing that practitioners—through techniques such as breathwork, exposure to cold water, and meditation—have experienced improvements in their neuro-biopsychosocial and emotional well-being. Participants have reported profound experiences, including the alleviation of symptoms and recovery from illnesses. Furthermore, many have encountered spiritual or transcendental experiences that have fundamentally transformed their lives. Human-centric design is a crucial component of the metaverse. In this context, the human is not only the central focus but also a source of diverse sensory data, which can be leveraged to further refine and improve the metaverse ecosystem. In modern clinical practice, neuro-oncological prognostics—predicting the future course of brain cancer—have become highly significant. This enables physicians to work more effectively and with greater insight within environments that utilize "digital twins" (digital replicas of real-world entities). Overall, this work establishes a robust foundation for developing "cognitively aware" digital twin systems in neuro-oncology and other fields. This holds the potential to fundamentally transform how neurological disorders are diagnosed, monitored, and managed within modern healthcare systems.Integrating Ayurveda and naturopathy—either as a complement or an alternative to modern medical practices—represents a promising advancement in precision Ayurveda and digital healthcare. The convergence of meditation, computational biology, and digital twin technology marks a cutting-edge frontier in precision medicine and cognitive neuroscience. By conceptualizing a meditating individual as a dynamic biological system, researchers are moving beyond purely qualitative descriptions of mindfulness toward real-time, predictive *in silico* models of the mind-body connection. Theoretical frameworks—such as those presented in research papers exploring computational approaches to meditation—can utilize non-linear dynamics and neural network modeling to formalize the transitions between states like sleep, conscious wakefulness, and deep meditation. During meditation, the alpha, beta, gamma, theta, and delta brain waves emitted by the body fluctuate in response to our daily lives and lifestyles. Undoubtedly, digital technology has profoundly and unimaginably shaped modern society. Contemplative traditions offer a deep understanding of the human mind; they contain a wealth of techniques capable of training our faculties, thereby fostering the development of both the individual and humanity as a whole. Consequently, meditation-based interventions can be effectively incorporated into broader, moment-to-moment health interventions.
